(pseudo) drop-shadow was added.

If you use "Generate geometry from texture" it will remove the box from the shadow, and then only the shadow (which becomes a polygon) will remain.

No. The box is a canvas, and is not the shadow itself.
By measuring surface of ground, the shadow texture is scrolled and rotated automatically.

Yes, I know what you are doing in the script. But even after converting the shadow to a polygon, the script still remains, and I believe that the shadow moves more realistically with the motion of the dog. You should at least try what I suggest to see if you like it or not.

Either way, this is an AWESOME scene. You are the Algodoo expert at making animals look natural when they walk and run!

For now, I've replaced the shadow texture by an image with transparent background.
