Very good job! I was especially impressed by your rotation algorithm which works better than any other textureMatrix rotation script that I've seen in past scenes (including mine). _o_

EDIT: I forgot about kilinich's texture matrix transformation scene (see my other post below).

After looking over your equations, I now realize the mistakes that I made in my textureMatrix demo scene. I increased and decreased the individual scale and offset values without regard to how the texture was rotated. Live and learn (as my momma used to say)!

Nice demo. Also,I think what Xray ^ up there is pretty much correct.
Thanks for the demo, I have been trying to make some progress in scripting starting with textures.
Yes, excellent tutorial! - Texture Transformation
Thanks Kilinich, somehow I missed that one (I think it was because I only searched for textureMatrix). I did however see your Earth (textureMatrix demo) and Xray's TEXTURE MATRIX DEMONSTRATION.
s_noonan - How did you figure out the math for this? When I did my own demo scene, I simply played around with the matrix values and documented what I found. But I had no idea that the textures can be rotated so smoothly and without distortion. Did you find details about it in the forum, or did you figure out the math by yourself? Either way, you did a splendid job! _o_
I started here and then played with it until I got it to do what I wanted.
s_noonan -- A weird thing happened by accident. I downloaded this scene in order to see how you did the script for textureMatrix. My intention was to save a copy on my computer, but I accidentally saved it back to Algobox! If you look at the scene description it now reads "Last edited by Xray". Nothing was actually edited except the description itself which was supposed to be for my own reference on my computer. You can correct what I wrote and put it back the way it was if you want to. I'm sorry about that, Steve.

Xray
I saw that and figured it was done inadvertently. I did a Notepad++ compare and saw that only the description changed. I was going to let it go but decided to update the title and description today. I revisited Kilinich's scene mentioned in the comments above and am still amazed at his level of understanding and coding ability.
Yes, I totally agree. Kilinich is a very talented programmer. I hope he will become active again here on Algobox.
