This is the classic game of Hangman, normally played with pencil and paper against another person. In this game, you play against Algodoo!

There are 15 words currently in the dictionary, and each word is related to the Algodoo simulation program. For example, one of the words is THYME. That's the only hint I'll give you!

Each time you click on the START button, a secret word is randomly chosen by the computer, and you must guess the word by clicking on letters in the alphabet. Each time you miss-guess a letter, either parts of the hanging scaffold get added, or when the scaffold has been completely assembled, parts of the man's body get shifted to the hangman's noose. When all body parts are hanging, you lose. If you guess all the letters of the word, then you win.

Pretty neat. I did have one problem with it though.

In this version, you have to guess the first letter, then the second, and so on.

Whenever I played hangman, the rules were if you guessed a letter and it was in the word, it was then written out in its proper place, like Wheel of Fortune, or whatever TV show that was with the blue wall where you guess words.

Have I been playing hangman wrong all these years...?

Anyway, it works well and looks good, so..... 8/10 :tup:

Hi Fruitmonger - Thanks for the feedback! I thought of that when I was designing the game, but I decided to do it the way it currently is because it makes it a little more challenging, and the dictionary only has 15 words in it. So, I didn't want to make it too easy to beat. ;)

I'm not sure if I believe Xray's story. I think he made it that way because the scripting is simpler. The 15 word dictionary excuse is questionable because he could add as many words to the dictionary as he chooses. At any rate, I think that the scene is the best hangman scene in Algobox to date.
