A wheellock pistol, or "puffer" from the mid-1500s. Thw wheellock was designed to allow for a shot to be loaded and kept completely handy until it was ready to be fired with the pull of a trigger, unlike the earlier matchlocks, which required a fuse to be lit and fitted into place, and the pan to be opened manually. Rather than replacing the matchlock, it coexisted with them, as well as the later snaphances, until all three were replaced by the flintlock mechanism.
The gun is ready to fire. Pull the trigger, then follow the steps below.
------------------------------------------------------
-------
Directions:
1. Turn the wheel about 45 degrees clockwise, so that it is vertical.
2. Press Q to raise the barrel.
3. Drag a cartridge to the barrel, and touch the red lid to the tip of the barrel, so that its contents will pour into it.
4. Remove the ramrod (the iron rod underneath the gun) and use the wide end of it to push the load to the back of the barrell. The gold plate at the end of the ramrod should barely reach the barrel.
5. Replace the ramrod.
6. Press Q to table the gun. (or don't)
7. Fire.
