The anemometer will calculate the wind speed.

Anemometer consists of two sensors. Each sensor has some self heating (small box in the center of each sensor). The warmer sensor has 10 times the self heating of the cooler sensor. The air temperature is determined by extrapolating the temperature for no self heating based on info from the two sensors. The warm sensors temperature along with the air temperature is used to calculate the wind speed. Both sensors will get cooler as the wind speed increases.

I never heard of a thermistor anemometer before today, and so I researched it on the web. Interesting device! Seems to be useful at very low air flow rates, and where ambient temperature is fairly stable over a narrow range.

Good job on the scene. :tup:
"fairly stable over a narrow range" applies only to cheap imitations of this Algodoo anemometer. Put the following in the Air box update event:

_temp = 20.0 + 10.0 * sin(sim.time)

and you will see that the response is fast and accurate over a wide range of unstable temperature.

My comment about the thermistor anemometer being stable over a narrow temperature range is from an abstract to an article about the theory of how the device works. The comment was not directed at your expensive, high-end, superior quality Algodoo anemometer. Here is a direct copy/paste of the statement:

The anemometer output was affected by changes in ambient temperature, and the use of calibration curves for various ambient temperatures is suggested.

Clearly, the article was discussing a cheap imitation, probably made in China.
Thanks for the comments. I didn't think your comment was directed at my Algodoo design, but I figured I should test it anyway. It worked out quite well, so I figured I may as well brag about it. If it didn't work out, I probably would not have said anything.
