Good concept. Typically you can decrease the time step to improve the accuracy by setting Sim.timeDelta = 0.001 (default is 0.01) in the console. I tried this and the escapement jammed. If you can get the escapement to work at the smaller time step, then it may be more accurate.

It took me about 1 hour, mostly tweaking

This is really nice! you really understand the movement and how the timing of the "push" should work. very cool. Although I think you can cut yourself some slack and turn the dampening and friction down. in a watch, the friction is almost nothing and the spring has almost no dampening. that way you can turn the torque of your power source down. Just a suggestion. it doesn't make any difference. its amazing!
