A simple strength test for my channel lock pliers. They seem to be able to hold up to a LOT of weight on the end. Up to 2,000 Kg. I think it's safe to say you won't break these pliers doing simple every day tasks.
Go ahead and increase the weight of the test weight. The pliers break at about 3,000.
Update: Added a circle that you can use instead of the chained block.
To use, simply move the the small dip in the end of the handle, after you remove the chained block of course. Just cut the chain or something.
If you use the circle, the channel locks can hold 10,000 Kg instead of just 2,500 or so, because the circle penetrates through the handle a little, which keeps the weight from going straight to the handle. |
