A small box that reverses and slightly lowers its velocity on impact with another geometry (i.e. another box, circle, or anything that's not a plane).
Due to the velocity reversal, it seems to stick to the geometry you throw it against, if you throw it with enough force, and will slowly slide downwards.
Now you may be thinking "But FruitMonger, if the velocity is reversed, wouldn't it just seem to bounce off, instead of sticking?"
And you would be right, except that algodoo reads the velocity of the box right after the impact, and the impact causes the box to bounce off, so it reverses the velocity that was reversed through bouncing. Get it? (it's okay if you don't)
My goal was to make the box seem to bounce instead of sticking, but it didn't work out, and the sticking is much cooler (in my opinion) than the bouncing, so I just kept it sticky.
That's about all there is to tell, so have fun with it, and please remember to rate and comment.
P.S.: If you want, since the box uses readables, you can scale the box bigger or smaller. Just make sure it doesn't turn into a polygon, or it won't work. It has to be a box. (well I guess if it turns into a polygon by accident, you can use the gemoetry actions to turn it back to a box)
P.P.S: Uses readables, so it'll only work in algodoo 2.0.0+. |
