This benchmark increases the number of particles as the sim goes on. When FPS drops down to 40 you should stop the sim and report the number of particles.

The goal is to make valid phun benchmarks that scale appropriately and that can determine difference between Intel and AMD cpus.

This benchmark does not scale linearly , a system that has 2 times higher score is probably 2.5 times stronger then the referent one, but this still needs to be confirmed.
Ram and NB speed play a part so dont forget to report them also.

thx m8, i hope this one is better.

Btw how high could you overclock your cpu if you have only 1 or 2 cores and the rest shut down?

if its no biggie could you post that result as well?

Running Phun off flash drive
2886 circles @4,4Ghz on 2 cores, didn't want to go over 1,5 Vcore:P

I would love to se some i5 or i7 scores!
Any of the newer Pentiums and up (Xeon, i3,i5,i7) should run Phun lag- free. If I were you I would go with a Pentium or i3. They're generally cheaper and have a good price to performance ratio. Also running phun off a USB helps for performance.

Hope this helps! :)
"I would love to se some i5 or i7 scores! "

its the only reason i made this benchmark

2886 is awesome, its 200 or so more particles then expected at that frequency, did you additionally raise your ram above 1600 or NB above 2600?

"Also running phun off a USB helps for performance."

lol didnt know this

Thank you Cartuner55512

it would be awesome if you could also do 5.28 and other '400 particles ' benchmark
phun 5.28
score 2013
i5 sandy bridge 3.0 ghz
algodoo 2.0.1
score 2781
i5 2500 3,3ghz(but maybe it goes at 3,7ghz turbo boost because algodoo is single threaded)
8gb dd3 1333 mhz
windows 7 64bit
is that a good score?
btw what is northbridge frequency?
i don't know how to find it...:(

oh and i set everything to the minimum on my algodoo settings(16 bit textures no anisotropic filter etc..)

2781 is awesome, but it seems to much. Did you measure this at 40 FPS?

i5 can run 2000 particles at 3 Ghz and 40 fps in phun 5.28 which is 20% faster then algodoo. So i would expect around 2400 particles at 3.7 Ghz in phun and maybe 2000 in algodoo 2.01. Your score seems to much...

And your cpu does boost to 3.7 Ghz. Northbridge is QPI for intel cpus , i think other name for it are hypertransport, but dont worry about it , its on default if you did not overclock it.

i tried to stop when i saw 40 fps so yeah 2781 should be the right value....
