This started as a model of the Pratt & Whitney R985 which has a bore
and stroke of 132mm. I couldnt get that close so this is a 948 @ 130 LOL

Features: fully throttleable, educational color coded strokes (like all my
4 stroke engines) and mostly accurate valve timing. Also the load can
be varried by turning air friction on and off and changing the value in
the options, it will pull 10x air friction :) The prop tips have air friction
multiplyer of 500 so its making quite a bit of power!
Cylinders are numbered counter clockwise from top center.
Firing order:1,3,5,7,9,2,4,6,8

Credits once again to Kilinich for the Conundrummer gear generator!

This WILL lag on slower computers but for some reason it shows higher
rad/s in the plot on slower comps? I'm getting 25 rad/s on mine with no
load at 100% sim speed.

Algodoo only, uses lasers!

Controlls in scene.

Please comment and rate!

Dedicated to the memory of Amanda Franklin

Edit: Does not work in 1.9.5 Beta sorry

Pure mechanical perfection.
_o_
Thank you for making colour codes so we can see and learn from it. P.S. you forgot bright red, I think it's the combustion. Oh and 10!
Thanks Dare, the bright red is when it actualy fires, the throttle works by delaying the firing point which is not realistic so I decided not to include it to avoid confusion
I should make that box both colors
edit: ok done

hi niiiiccceee engine!!! i had like 30rads
Thanks Trexpass :)
Doesn't work at all for me. It seems that only two pistons are capable of firing.

Then again, I think the counterweight is to blame. With gravity off, it works fine.
Quite well in fact.
I congratulate you on that.

However, as soon as I turn gravity back on, it makes a couple more revolutions and stops.

Also, it seems to have made Algodoo run out of memory. It did lag a lot, and that might have something to do with it.
Hi Someone Else, Hmm I have run this on 3 different computers and it worked well
just faster on the better computer? Try reloading the scene Also did you give it any throttle, when the scene loads its set at a low idle? At verry low throttle it just barely fires? Please let me know ANY results!
I realy thought it was perfected:bonk:
One more thing this is built to run at 100hz make sure your sim.frequency isnt set strange although I have run it at 400 hz on my fast comp.
After sim start hit left arrow for a couple of seconds and it should start and run at about 3rad/s without doing anything else.
Realy sounds like a bad scene load to me<_<
If anyone else is having problems please let me know.

can't open this on phun:(, although i have to say from just looking at the display picture, its looking amazing!
Oh sorry I didnt know you were Phun only:'(
Awesome!:)
PS, SomeoneElse was trying to run this in 1.9.5 Beta is the reason for his problems
I dont plan to even try and fix it in the Beta, I'll wait for the final release
Your best work so far!!!! And from what I see there never will be a final release so scenes are only gonna work with the version they were made. Sad IMO, noobs to Algodoo arent gonna install an old version just to run an old scene.
Thanks so much Bill_o_ I was starting to get worried about you:unsure:
I like the idea of the new hinge solver if they can make it work:x
really awesome 10/10:tup: _o_
You are a master at engines!
Thanks ;) a lot of work went into this
It works in 1.9.8 Beta!

Good job, Gent.

I'm getting about 26.95 rads/sec, 27 on average if I really crank it hard, peaking near 27.5.
Thanks Someone Else _o_ in my tests it does work in 1.9.8b but laggs pretty bad
it works perfect in 1.8.5 with no lag on my comp:cool:
