OK, its been a LONG time since Ive uploaded something, Ive been on a lot of other games lately and haven't been playing phun.

This is my first piston engine so its not the best but it's pretty good. This specific model comes with a starter motor. Hold down the S key for a few seconds until the flywheel gets going. There is a little circle going up and down when the engine is working, that's the piston moving up and down so you can keep track of how fast its moving.

I'm going to be doing a series of piston engines so this isn't going to be the last engine I make. I plan on making a two cylinder next.

There is a second engine on a chassis for the strength demo.

The weights are to keep the engine going. If the flywheel was too light, it would constantly be going and wouldn't have much torque

Sorry but the engine isnt making any power to speak of at all :unsure:

If you delete the killer plane to the left and just let it run it keeps slowing down.
It goes almost as far if you delete the main piston spring, so its just the mass of the flywheel thats doing the pulling :blink:

I'm not trying to discourage you but you need to work on this :cool:

A truly good engine will speed up after being started with a slow speed starter :rolleyes:

I'm using Algodoo so it may work different in Phun
PS the grid in Algodoo will let you make all the stuff run concentric

It is possible that phun works differently than algodoo seeing as phun is free. The flywheel is sort of supposed to do the pulling, the piston is just there to keep it going.

I was just tinkering around when I made this after a few attempts before that failed. I plan on making more engines that have higher torque and less massive flywheels. This is just the beginning of a large series of engines.
