My all original design for a continuously smooth-variable transmission. No clutch is required to change the gear ratio, and the gear ratio is infinitely variable within the confines of two outer boundaries. I really like this design for a car transmission because of its ease of use and relative simplicity. Controls- Left and Right arrow keys.
I came up with this concept by myself, so if you use it in one of your creations or a similar concept, please give me a little credit.

Clever idea.
Thank you sir.
Wow that very cool. I wonder if something like that could actually be used in real life. Like on a bike or something.
Very good idea!
hey that's really clever ,simply clever
it's very nice indeed:D . it's already being used in real life. It's called CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission). the first version was the Variomatic from DAF.
I was aware of the CVT, but i thought is was much more complex?
I did a little research, and it looks to me like CVT's are similar but don't work on the exact same concept. My inspiration for this design was the aperture in a camera, but the CVT's in production seem to be more like a Torque converter for a go-cart. I could be wrong, and please correct me if i am.
I like it, nice idea.
I like it!
really cool, try putting this in a car, the only problem with CVT is the human factor, people don't like a car tat constantly stays in its perfect power rev because they are not used to it, I would like a car with CVT and I hope people start to warm up to the idea of infinitely variable transmissions.
