Pluto has a binary orbit with its planetary neighbor Charon, the two bodies being approximately 19,640 kilometers apart. This binary orbit is due to Charon's diameter of 1,212 kilometers, while Pluto's diameter is almost twice that of Charon, at 2,376 square kilometers. The fact that Charon is more than half the size of Pluto means it has a mass comparable to Pluto's, placing its center of mass (also known as barycenter) about 2,100 kilometers from Pluto's surface.

Pluto's other moons (Nix, Hydra, Kerberos, and Styx) are not included.
