I found this on a YouTube Shorts video about optical illusions.

This scene is a type of (static... No physics) scene that I very rarely do, but because it was such an interesting illusion I wanted to share it with the Algodoo community.

Is that supposed to be Jesus’s head?

a_bored_coder -- Yup. About a week ago I convinced my wife that I was seeing human faces in the middle of some flower pattern on our living room curtains. Now she's mad at me for telling her that because that's all she sees now when looking at those curtains!


Smelli -- I don't know who it's supposed to be. It's just a head of some guy with long hair. That could be any one of thousands of men (and maybe even some women! )

I have a popcorn ceiling in my room (fear not, it was installed in the 90s -- no asbestos here!) and there have been times where, while I was falling asleep or just bored, I was staring at it and began to see faces in it.

Pretty strange, but also pretty fascinating!

Yes, I also see the face in the thumbnail. I think it's because the image is much smaller so your brain doesn't "see" those girls drinking coffee which is at a much finer detail than the overall image of the face.

I'm no expert, but I recall watching an interesting documentary on TV about the brain, and how the section of the brain called the "fusiform gyrus" determines if you are seeing a face or not. At times it makes mistakes such as when my wife and I see faces in our living room curtains!

interesting effect indeed. the AI artifacts are pretty ugly though. As smelli pointed out this is most likely supposed to be jesus, since there are many ai-generated images like this out there, centered around jesus.

Yes, I noticed the AI artifacts right away, especially that weird looking car that's supposed to be the man's left eye.

Not to discuss religion, but I wanted to point out that no one today knows what the biblical Jesus looked like 2000 years ago! Some artists have painted pictures of him with long, flowing blond hair but that cannot be true because of who he was. Fact: According to the bible he was a Jew. Nearly all Jews back then had short curly black hair, not blond. Fact: According to writings by the apostle Paul (1 Cor 11:14) he said: "Does not nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair it is a disgrace for him?". Paul would not have written that if Jesus had long hair! So, again, that guy could be anyone. He could even be that image that many people "believe" what Jesus looked like. I think the guy looks like a 1970's Rock star, or a person who people called a "Hippie" in those days.
