You are a resistance fighter defending your city from an unprovoked assault by a heavily armed Apache helicopter. The invaders claim you're building "weapons of mass destruction"—a blatant lie used to justify their destruction of civilian infrastructure and strategic facilities vital to your community.

Armed only with rifles and limited defenses, your mission is to shoot down the helicopter before it obliterates all 210 marked locations. These so-called "targets" are actually schools, hospitals, and factories—none of which pose any threat.

The enemy pilot may try to wipe out everything by holding down the trigger and unleashing 1400 rounds. But if you can disrupt their mission and force them to waste ammo, you might just save your city.

Can you expose the truth and stop the assault before it's too late?

Rev A: Added fire.
Rev B: Added Xray's gun recoil.
Rev C: Bullets explode on contact. (Note: Xray insisted that I make the bullets explode upon collision. I used Little's Fireworks Generator! for the bullet contact.)

I see how you intentionally prevented the text "GAME OVER" from displaying. It really is only a game, s_noonan.

Yeah, I skipped the “GAME OVER” screen on purpose. I figured it was more powerful to just let the scene end abruptly. When you die you can't play Algodoo anymore.

I know it’s “just a game,” but I wanted to flip the perspective a bit. Kids play these scenes and often see the hero mowing down enemies like it’s a movie where the bullets only go one way. I thought it was worth showing that sometimes the pilot doesn’t make it home.

No hard feelings. I think your original scene was done well. I just wanted to add a little food for thought.

As you know, I used your scene as a foundation and made a few adjustments to change the point of view.

Along the way, I streamlined some of the code and tweaked the image resolution, which ended up reducing the file size about fivefold. I also trimmed down the custom code by around 20%, aiming to keep things efficient while preserving the spirit of your original creation.

If you're interested, feel free to check it out. You could easily adapt it by removing the extra elements I added (like the text box, blood, fire, and target code) and use it however you like. I’d be honored if any part of it proves useful to you.
I like the improvements and the added realism of war (blood and fire).

The only components of the scene that, in my opinion, look rather hokey are those yellow streaks that slowly fly by the helicopter pilot. They don't appear to have any effect on him and they don't explode or cause any damage at all. They look more than fireflies than any kind of weapon! LOL. Other than that, you did a great job on the overall improvements to the code and to the scene. :tup:

Reply: I never "insist" on any edits to anyone's scene with one exception. That is when any part of a scene violates the Algobox rules or the Algoryx TOS. For this particular scene it does not violate any rules nor the TOS, and therefore I only made a suggestion.

I like what you did with those yellow things. Now the scene is beginning to look and act more like warfare! :tup:

FYI, on a personal level, I hate war. It's the absolutely worst thing that we humans do to each other. :(
