Hello! It's been nearly 3 months since I've uploaded a scene that isn't about cars -- so I decided to finally break that streak!

Lately, Morse Code has caught my interest. Morse Code is an old system of communication that involved telegraphs and the famous "dots and dashes".
To this day I still don't know much about it and I struggle to memorize more than a few letters -- but I still find the technology really cool -- so I decided to create a scene out of it and explain how it works!

In the scene I added a Morse Code translator as well as some explanation about Morse Code and how the translator works.
Please note that I have little idea of what I'm talking about -- so some information may be inaccurate or completely incorrect. I'm just a girl trying to finish up 12th grade -- I unfortunately don't have a very clear head or much time at the moment.:(

Hypothetically, it would be possible to integrate this into a single-channel attraction radio and wirelessly send text without scene.my variables or springs. I think that would be kind of cool and might try it one day!

2017 - 2025 Little (Xarbian Computer Science)
Note: I've been given ownership of the "Xarbian" label so I can start using it again!:D

EDIT: Removed close button from the included translator, removed persistence on the phunlettable version (note that that still has a close button), and changed the formatting on the translation tables:D

Hey Little -- Nice job on the scene overall! It looks like you put a lot of time and effort into it.

I have two suggestions:
1. Your "simple translation table" has a dash after each character which can get confused with the actual code. I suggest removing that dash and leave a space there after each character. That's how I've seen other Morse Code tables done in the past.

2. I accidentally clicked on that big orange circle in the upper-right corner of your "quick GUI" and the thing disappeared! I later realized that it's supposed to do that! I think it would be better to make that a rectangular button (maybe like a Windows type of button?) with the word "Exit" on it instead of a giant orange ball!

That's all!
Thank you for your feedback!
You are welcome! :)
I was busy doing something, but now that I'm home I updated the scene.
Thank you!
Great!

Just curious... You mentioned about finishing 12th grade. Do you have plans for college, or something else? My guess is Engineering. Right?
I'm uncertain as of right now, but I was thinking maybe something related to Psychology! I've been through a lot when I was younger and I really want to help people who have been through similar situations to mine!

I'm actually taking a Psychology class soon as my final elective class before graduation! I hope to learn more about myself and others.

As for engineering, most of what I make is really improvised and unoptimized -- so I don't think I would be very good at it. :(
This scene is a good example of that I believe! -- It's fairly improvised and it's more built to work than to be efficient.
Nicely done. There are now (7) scenes on Algobox with Morse in the title. Two of those are from Xray and me. From what I've seen so far, you would be a great engineer, although maybe best to do what you think you would like. Engineering may eventually be taken over by AI, whereas people will always need other people to help them out.
@Little --

s_noonan stated: "From what I've seen so far, you would be a great engineer..."

I concur with that statement. You have posted many "technical" scenes on Algobox which shows that you have a taste for technical things. No one is born an Engineer. You need the basic classes such as advanced math, electronics, mechanics, etc. depending on the kind of Engineering you are interested in. I believe that AI will continue to be a helpful "tool" that Engineers will rely upon more and more into the future, but it will be a long time (if ever) before Engineers will be totally replaced by AI.

The best advice anyone can give is "follow your dream". If Psychology is your dream, then go after it with everything you got!

Mom talked to me today about hobbies -- and she said I should really try to get into Engineering (like you said) and Marble Racing!

Both are things I can do on Algodoo!
I know there are a lot of marble race scenes on Algodoo and a lot of users dislike them though, so chances are I won't post them on Algobox -- but it still sounds really fun to do by myself.
