Hi!
I'm sort of fixated on weird vehicles ever since I was at the store the other day and we saw this downright bizzare blue car -- its antenna was just above the windshield, pointing forward like some sort of rhino horn.
As well, lately I've sort of been posting a lot more of what I make -- prioritizing the fun I have with it over the scene's quality (hence why my past few scenes have been a bit lower quality -- they've been a lot of fun to make though!) and I hope you also find these kinds of scenes fun!
The vehicle in this scene only has 1 wheel, along with a basic script in the wheel's axle that, in simple, tries to keep the vehicle oriented a specific direction.
It has a few parameters -- brake force, damping, and power.
Power is basically the multiplier for the entire wheel's torque output.
Damping is the multiplier for the vehicle's angular velocity to dampen shaking -- Stephanie (the ragdoll) adjusting herself already dampens it slightly, but there is an extra parameter in the code.
If Damping is set too high, the vehicle starts to jitter for some reason -- my theory is that there's not enough inertia! Every part of the vehicle has 1 InertiaMultiplier -- and can be rotated like any other object!
Finally, we have brake force -- when S is pressed, it tries to point the vehicle in the opposite direction of its movement to slow it down. (It's similar to if Steph leans the other way).
Too high of a brake force also seems to cause some weird jitteriness unfortunately :<
I've tuned these 3 parameters to values I find comfortable within the scene -- but feel free to tinker with them to your heart's content!
These parameters can be found in the script menu for the gray axle holding the wheel on.
Use A and D to lean back and forth -- and therefore move back and forth.
S is the brake -- coupled with leaning in the opposite direction can pretty quickly stop the vehicle.
This vehicle doesn't have a spring engine unlike my other ones unfortunately -- I couldn't think of a good way to combine it with the angle thing.
Also, an important note! The vehicle does not work if the gravity is coming from an object with attraction (so no driving it on planets
)
I tried adding an accelerometer to automatically set the gravity direction, but the G-forces from accelerating/decelerating seriously interfered with it and it just kind of went crazy.
This is also my first scene with the new Stephanie ragdoll! This one has locked axles within the joints so that her limbs cannot bend backwards -- so as such, I don't need to glue the whole thing together all the time! (Stephanie is one of my OCs/Original Characters for anyone wondering -- she's not based off of anyone)

P.S. I recommend taking it slow with this vehicle to avoid slamming your face into the ground.
