Attempting to optimise my W4 engine, and running into some funny limitations. Had to simplify the transmission, so there's no Forward or Reverse clutch between the crank and gearbox.
Put it on a simple rig on a flat plane for finding the top speed in each gear.

Running without any load, the gearbox output will peak at 1720rpm with boost. It doesn't reach half that when rolling, typically topping out at 19m/s [~42mph]. If it did it'd hit 62m/s [139mph].


Update: Changed the rig suspension, turns out it was a bottleneck.
