Accurate and measured angular diameters of objects as they are seen from Earth.
What is angular diameter? Simply put, it's a measurement (involving degrees) that pinpoints the sizes of certain objects in the night sky based on the perspective of a celestial body. All the following measurements are from the perspective of Earth.
60 arcminutes (') is one degree of sky out of 360. 60 arcseconds (") is one arcminute of sky out of 21600.
Most objects have an opposition or conjunction (or a perihelion or aphelion). Look the details up online since they're a bit complicated, but opposition/perihelion is closest, and conjunction/aphelion is furthest.
Again, the components made in this scene are made by me, so credit me if you want to use them.
*also by "detail" I mean visible things that can be distinguished on an object, not just its general visibility. |
