Introducing the Accurate Hanging Scale, a precise and reliable tool for measuring weights in Algodoo. This scale has been carefully calibrated to provide accurate readings for various weights, ensuring that you get consistent and trustworthy measurements every time. Perfect for educational purposes, experiments, and any project that requires precise weight measurement.

Features:

• High Accuracy: Calibrated to accurately measure weights such as 50 kg and 100 kg.
• Adjustable Spring Constant: The spring constant has been fine-tuned to 750 N/m for optimal performance.
• Optimized Target Length: Set to 5.25 meters to ensure the best results.
• User-Friendly Design: Easy to use with clear markings for weight readings.
• Included Test Weights: Pre-set weights of 50 kg, 100 kg, and others are provided for easy testing and verification.
• Max Weight of 220kg

How to Use:

1. Place Object: Simply put the object on the basket.
2. Read Weight: Observe the scale’s pointer to get the accurate weight of the object.
3. Test with Provided Weights: Use the included test weights to verify the accuracy of the scale.

Calibration Details:

• Spring Constant: Adjusted to 750 N/m to ensure accurate readings.
• Target Length: Set to 5.25 meters to accommodate the required displacement for measurement.
• Damping: Set to 0.10 for smooth operation.

Instructions:

• Adjust the zeroing pin at the top to zero out the scale.
• Put the object on the basket.
• Read the scale directly to get the weight measurement.
• Use the provided test weights located below the scale to verify accuracy:

Additional Notes:

• The scale has been thoroughly tested with various weights to ensure its accuracy.
• Feel free to adjust the spring constant or target length slightly if needed for specific experiments or different gravity settings.
• Ideal for classroom demonstrations, physics experiments, or any project requiring precise weight measurements.

Enjoy using the Accurate Hanging Scale with Test Weights and feel free to provide feedback or share your experiences!

Nice job on the scale!

I have a few suggestions for your consideration: 1 - Measurement ambiguity can be improved by using small/thin tick marks every 10 Kg instead of those relatively large rectangular boxes. 2- Use square boxes for the test weights instead of circles because the circles tend to roll around on the flat scale pan. 3- Add some damping to each of the main springs which will help to stabilize the readings when the pan starts to wiggle around or swing like a pendulum.
 Very well done!
Nice job! I think it needs some like improvements to make it more accurate but mostly its really good!
Either Miguel6502 doesn't read the comments or he does but doesn't care what people suggest. :s
sorry xray. have been gone for a bit. Will look at improvements to make, thank you!
Okay, great!
The scale has been updated!
Good job! The scale works as expected and is fairly accurate.

I hate to be picky, but there are two things that I would change if it were my own scene. They are: 1. Disable the Algodoo clouds. It doesn't make sense to have clouds floating by while using a scale. They can be distracting. 2. I would increase the damping on those two main springs. A damping value of 2.0 seems about right. With the current damping of 0.1 the scale pointer bounces back and forth many times until finally settling down after a weight is placed on the scale. With a damping value of 2.0 it settles down much quicker.

These are just suggestions. You don't have to do them if you don't want to. In any case you did an excellent job on the scale!
The clouds are now removed, but the springs have to be dampened to 0.1 so that the scale works correctly with all weights. The suggestions were great, thanks!
You are very welcome!
