As I slowly continued working on the tedious respawn scripts, I realized that I hadn't made a map for 4 days! So here we go, another 4TDM map! This one even introduces a new element; the Accelero Pad in the center of the map! One step on that thing will speed up the troop that steps on it! It takes a lot of energy to speed troops up in that fashion, though, so it has a 5 second recharge
Booster and Defender are back. Defender's gotten a decent amount of changes, while Booster's effectively the same as v1 Booster. As for the Defender himself, his sentry is shorter ranged, fires a bit slower, aims more consistently, takes a bit to activate when placed, but most importantly, it can now target traps! The old Trapper-Sentry matchup was pretty depressing, so now Trapper has a utility against sentries! Good for you, old pal!
(The troops are still being actively balanced. Defender sentries lost their 4th health point and some range in exchange for a bit of quality of life)
The next map will probably be another 2TDM map to maybe showcase the final troop (All old troops have finally been used as of now), and afterwards we'll probably move on to the Respawn-based gamemodes! We will probably even have 4TDM versions of some of them, heh heh heh!
Troops:
- Spearman: The classic melee troop with 5 health and a pointy, 2 damage spear returns, simple as ever! Just point your sharp stick at the enemy, and watch as they get melted with high damage!
- Cannoneer: The ol' fashioned ranged menace. It's more fragile than the Spearman, but it brought it's trusty cannon to the battlefield, allowing it to hit enemies from afar!
- Landmine: Watch out! This marble seems like an ordinary marble at first, but it's actually a highly-compact explosive that deals massive damage if you let it get close enough! It's best to keep your distance to disarm it when your teammates are safely far away!
- Engineer: Slinging his trusty wrench alongside him and knowledge in mechanical construction and repair, the Engineer brings with him the blueprints for a dispensable building! The building will pulse every 6 (previously 8) seconds, which can heal his team and damage enemies inside the radius! Plus, it makes a good shield, if things go awry!
- Trapper: Is your battlefield infested with disgusting enemy team members? Try hiring a Trapper! They'll catch out those rodents in no time with highly durable traps! Due to a technological breakthrough in Trap Design Inc., the traps are now able to act as projectile sponges, absorbing plenty of ranged fire before breaking! Be warned, you rats! Armor won't save you from the Trapper!
- (NEW-ISH) Booster: Here's a quote from a professional Booster: "WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" Yup, a Booster lives with the thrill of high speeds being their motivating factor going into each battle! With their powerful thruster behind them at all times, they're unafraid to dash into any situation with their high-damage ramming spikes!
- (NEW-ISH) Defender: Sometimes it's good to set up shop and watch idiotic troops run in and die like a moth to a flame. That's what the Defender lives for, with his deployable Sentry being the flame. You set one of these bad boys down, and suddenly everything nearby is a hazardous zone of entry for any enemy troop! The Defender himself is pretty weak on his own, so it's in his best interest to stick by his mechanical firearm! |
