The modifier provides a lot of improvementes over the Competitor series of computers.

Just a fair warning, you might need a beefy computer to use it!

Instead of having registers named as numbers, will you have them named as something like EAX?
Okay, that above comment was a joke for someone, but you're not wrong about the beefy computer, because on my main PC with a i7-2700k and 24GB of ram, this runs at like 60fps. I'm on a Radeon RX 570.
Somebody said that he thinks your think is poor-quality since it needs a beefy PC to run.
30fps*
I found out that it only lags like that in the writer, and when there's a lot of scrolling going on in code mode.
Though interestingly, despite my PC being a loaf of potatoes, it runs this scene almost identically as yours does.

It really makes me think that Algodoo is limited in some way.

Algodoo is probably just not optimized for certain situations like this.
There's a bug. If you're on a screen that says something like "press a to install", then you press the key, the key spills over to the input command in the "which sector do you want to install to?" screen. Lowering the clock speed doesn't seem to help for some reason, despite it working on earlier computers.
That's a bug in the software. Some software doesn't have it, proving it is a software bug and not a bug with the computer. Nonetheless it is a flaw.
Okay. Also sorry for not making a program yet, I'll make one when I have time.
It's fine.

I plan to soon completely overhaul the GPU as I found that was causing the majority of the lag, contrary to all common sense.

I still don't see how a text scroller is more laggy than a virtual processor, but oh well.
The reason I have come to this conclusion is that the scene runs just fine until scroll mode is enabled, and during this lag removing the CPU only adds about 5 FPS but removing the GPU adds a good 20.

I wonder if I could reduce the lag and improve readability at the same time by making the screen lower resolution.
Alright.

I have posted the Modifier Lite.
