Grow and replicate, but with a random element added to the growth rate.
On average, the circle will grow, but at any given point it is possible for the circle to shrink. This means that the child circles can (and usually will) reach full size at slightly different times. As the siulation goes on, you may notice how new circles form at a uniform rate.
