controls are nigh identical to the ASG-2, but this one's manually-shucked. make sure you rack it all the way back and all the way forward or you can get feed issues. shift presses the slide lock

edits: as per Xray's comment, the controls have been made more apparent; components with which the drag tool should interact with are made reddish and opaque to stand out

-made the lifter cam-operated rather than spring-lifted. works a looooot more reliable now. Xray, please test this for me;)

-added a switch to allow you to cycle and fire without loading rounds from the magazine. this is handy for when you may want to load specialty rounds. Said specialty rounds soon to follow, stay tuned ;)

-added different shell types, spread geom, arrow key control over the slide and magazine cutoff, and some reliability upgrades

-added wadding. cool.

-loaded shotgun with slugs anticipating lag with buckshot now that wadding's a thing.

-added control diagrams to the shotgun denoting what keys to push for the controls, placed on the slide, magazine cutoff, trigger, and lock respective of the associated keys.

-added auto-deleting areas that remove spent shells, shot, and wads, reducing lag increases.

-better spread model and appearance

nice
Yes, nice job on it, Phil. I did run into an issue at first, and that is because of all the semi-transparent components, it was difficult to figure out what I was supposed to grab onto with the drag tool in order to reload another round in the chamber. Also, when I finally figured out what to grab onto, the bolt assembly got stuck in its rearward position, and after a few minutes of my getting frustrated with it, it finally slammed shut for another shot. Not being familiar with this type of shotgun caused a frustrating experience with it. So, maybe a bit more instruction would help others who might otherwise have trouble trying to operate this shotgun.

UPDATE: I now see that I was yanking on the wrong thing! But there's still an issue and it might just be me not doing something correctly. After firing the first round, I try to rack the next round as normal, but it always fails to raise up into the breech area in front of the bolt. And so, the bolt runs forward into battery with no round in the chamber.:s

Xray, as grandpa always said, "don't short-shuck it." it does hang up a little sometimes but it works near flawless for me. maybe you just suck:P
No, phil. Maybe your shotgun just sucks. Even you admitted in your comment that "it does hang up a little sometimes...", so it's most likely not caused by something that I am not doing correctly. I own a lot of guns, including handguns, shotguns, and rifles, which proves that I know how to use firearms.
nah, you always seem to have problems with my stuff. it runs great for me :s :s :s
"even you admitted" okay, show me an algodoo gun that NEVER jams and I'll concede. You just always have some sort of issue that I need to work to replicate. when I run it, it hangs up or jams/malfunctions maybe 1/20 rounds or so and it's usually something minor that jimmying the slide resolves. catastrophic failures don't seem to happen, and I only rarely get a stovepipe, usually resulting from the shell falling right back into the action. you are doing something wrong, or your computer just hates me:lol:
Well, you may be right about me finding problems with your scenes. It's probably due to the fact that I am more critical than most people while testing mechanical devices because I did that for a living for a number of years. I guess that it's still in my blood! Most people who run into a jam or two would rather just ignore it because they fear insulting or pissing off the scene creator. That's why many flawed scenes go unfixed. I always felt that a scene creator would appreciate the fact that someone cares enough about helping them become a better scene maker. I don't do it just so I can pat myself on the back as if to say, "Look what I found wrong with your scene!". No, I do it because I truly want to be helpful. I just need to learn when too much help is too much! LOL

Now the GOOD news. I played around with your shotgun again, and I discovered that if I rack each new round a little slower, especially on the return stroke when it slides into battery, then there is less chance of the ammo jamming. It does work a lot better when I do it that way!
fair evaluation and argument. the difference may be as simple as "our computers run it at different speeds." for me, I have to deliberately rack it fast to induce the described condition, so I assumed few would run into it since I consider my computer "fast". it seems I may be have over-estimated it. do try my automatic variety, I think you'll find it better!
During the first couple of rounds I got one "stovepipe". Then every other round after worked flawlessly. Overall, I'd say that you improved the action with the latest changes.
