The Lincoln Town Car is a luxury automobile of segment F of the American automobile brand Lincoln, a division of Ford Motor Company.

The Town Car name was first used in 1959 and was used to identify the most complete trim level on the Lincoln Continental Mark IV. The Town Car name became a permanent part of the Continental model range in 1969 identifying the most comprehensive level of interior equipment. In 1981 the Town Car became its own model within the Lincoln range and in turn serving as the flagship of the Lincoln range and the Ford Motor Company. The Town Car has always used a V8 engine, body-on-frame design, rear-wheel drive, and massive measurements both inside and out. Its dimensions have made it the largest automobile produced in the United States and Canada. Despite declining sales, it remains one of America's best-selling luxury cars; it is also one of the most used cars for limousine and chauffeur service worldwide. Since 2003, ballistic protection can be added to the vehicle for $ 100,000. Consumer Guide cites the strengths of the vehicle as its comfort, its materials, the ride quality and its stopping distance which is short and stable for a heavy weight.1

The Lincoln Town Car is one of the safest vehicles available on the American market. Among its main rivals are the Audi A8, the BMW 7 Series, the Infiniti Q, the Lexus LS and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Among the rivals mentioned, it should be noted that the Lincoln Town Car is the most spacious in terms of interior and the longest in terms of external measurements.
