An improved version of dadido3's automated storage system.

Features (over old version):
- Scripting has been simplified to just three loops.
- You can now manually control all aspects of the container mover.
- You can remove containers now (Unlock the "edition" then just drag it out, to put back in drag in, hit enter, and after the container is away from it you can lock it)
- All documentation is now in English!!! :)
- Other stuff I forgot

For how to use it read the boxes on the left. Box to the right explains the states.

Enjoy!

Note: Don't remove then reinsert a container, and the lock without retracting the container first. The container door with jam, then pop out of place.

Update: v1.1
Mostly interface cleaning up, new feature to speed up machine up to 4x the normal speed.
Update: v1.2
Updated Documentation for v1.1 features, fixed bugs from v1.1
Update: v1.2.1
Status display now shows if debug mode is on or off.
Update: v1.2.2
Removed fixate Xs from main area in place of glueing objects together.
Redid collision sets, objects stored now can use F and G without colliding, as well as A (which will collide with the container).
When in debug mode, you can change the targeted container at any time (Please read notes in red box first!)
Other minor changes and stuff I forgot...
Update: v1.2.2-r1
Nothing really, updating documentation ([5] no longer removes any containers, lost during container redo in v1.2.2)
Update: v1.2.2-r2
Forgot to set the collision set for the container mover's idle wheels
Update: v1.2.2-r2
Fixed collision issue introduced in 1.2.2-r2.
Update: v1.2.2-r3
Really fixed the collision issue now. Also, the containers can hold water now (thought it leaks fairly badly).

awesome
i dont see much diffrence except for the debug stuff...
Among other things I made it so you can't specifiy a packet/container that there is no way you could get (like y=-2 or x=5). I've got a few more changes to make (all minor) and it will be done.
This is really nice. How do you get it to do that?
That is sooo cool thanks:tup:
Please note I didn't make this originally, but the thing works by continuously banging an object into another, and doing a lot of onCollide scripting, and also using variables. That control panel near the white documentation does all the "thinking". In short: Scripting. If you want to know more look at the scene code.
WOW! This works great! Simply amazing! 10/10_o_
Hey, thanks for the improvements and the complete english documentation.

I hadn't much time and was too lazy to do all this stuff;)

But i have 2 "problems":
- why isnt my name in the scene? (it's not important for me, but it would be nice;) )
- some keys are not working, because i have a german keyboardlayout. (+,-,[,])

finally i like to see how the "project" has grown. Hm, we could really make a collab to build a bigger Warehouse with packet queues and self optimizing sequence... but: not enough time (school...:bonk: )
Yeah, I'll add you to the scene author metadata (if that's what you meant), and I'll map those keys to other keys. As for the packet queues and other stuff, that's way above my head. But yeah a collab might be good.

EDIT: what keys would you suggest?

omg amazing need to be bigger 11/10:) :o
OMG!!! its like a little bank!:D
This is bloody amazing _o_
OMG I was messing with it and one of the vars overflowed, resulting in huge explosion of the whole thing.
Guyboy: Yeah if you jam the lift/mover, it tends to break and fly apart... Hence the warning in the red box. You just can't do anything weird (like override movement into a shelf or breaking/deleting the springs, putting items in a container that collide with the machinery inside.)

If you make it bigger, you could make a futuristic parking garage and put cars in the boxes. Maybe add some sort of conveyer belt to bring objects into the box, so you dont need to drag stuff in. Imagine an automated conveyor belt as well which detects objects are too big:).

Still works cool though.

unbelivable 10/10 :o
AMAZING _o_
We really should do a collab! I can think of at least a dozen things to add to this, but my first priority would be to make it WAY bigger.
@ dadido3 2009/05/25 14:39:08

I agree that you should have a warehouse colab, I would join!:)
There is a collab, it's at http://www.phunland.com/f … ?pid=86182 it's just inactive because I'm inactive at the moment (other projects and work keep me busy).

I was trying to make the whole thing bigger so the containers could hold something that was 10 meters by 10 meter, but when I pressed return the thing keeps exploding or something:( . do you have a bigger version of this?
ALL THE LABLES ON THE BOXES ARE WRONG. ):
