Algodoo

Hello! I am glad to start this molecular modeling kit series using Algodoo! This molecular set works with springs as bonds and circles as atoms, which are true-scale depending on their atomic radii in the real world. Every 0.01 m is 1 picometer on this scale.

The bonding sites are shown on the atoms. Connect one endpoint of one "bond" to one of the bonding sites on an atom. and the other endpoint to another bond site on another atom. Then, shorten every single bond to the minimum. This will create a single bond. More sets are coming soon! If you ever need more atoms of a kind, or want to save these atoms and bonds, save each atom and bond in a seperate folder in your Components, and name the folder "Molecular Modeling Kit." More information can be found in the help boxes you will see beside the molecular kit.

This might take a little longer to load because there are so many atoms.

Note: Nitrogen atoms will have two forms: one will have each bond site equidistant from each other, and the second will have bond sites that are just like carbon atoms except with one bond site missing. Additionally, the carbon atoms have two forms as well; one with 4 bond sites and another with 3 bond sites (for molecules like benzene).

The seprate long bonds are meant for triple bonds, and the purple bonds are resonance bonds. More info on these bonds on the Bond Guide in the kit.
