This simulation shows the angle at which each material starts to move.
Instructions:
a. The gold box is already on the movable surface.
b. Press ‘play’ and use the rotate tool to slowly rotate the purple surface to find at which angle the box starts to move by itself.
c. Record this angle into your observation table and rotate the purple surface back to the horizontal axis of 0 degrees.
d. Repeat steps b. and c. twice more so that you have three trials. Take the average of your three trials.
e. Repeat steps b., c., and d. using each of the different boxes given on the background. To move the box you will need to right click, go to geometry actions, and press loosen, and move it to the purple surface. Take the box you were just using, right click, go to geometry actions, and glue it to the background so that it doesn’t get in the way of the next box you are using.
