This scene senses the output torque, multiplies it by the transmission ratio, and applies it to the brake of the input "gear". It then reads the angVel of the input gear, multiplies it by the transmission ratio, and applies it to hinge motorSpeed of the output "gear". So the input "gear" is actually a brake and the output "gear" is actually a motor, and they don't need to contact in order to work. From the point of view of the motor and wheels, the transmission looks and feels like a low slip CVT.

Rev A: Can now be used as a phunlet. In/out operation reversed with motorOn/motorOff (for using motor braking when coasting down hills).

I don´t know why, but under any load, it is freaking out for me:/
Do it have same problem as >this↓<, by generating additional torque?
If not, how you fixed it?
Also, how is code with % working?
n%(2*math.pi) means fraction of full circle right (360°)?
For me, the output fails at 50,000 N-m. At what load is it "freaking out" for you?
- Any N/m, any ratio, just when output torque is same/greater than input torque
For ex. Engine 5000N/m ratio 2:1 output torque 5000N/m, but torque should be 10.
000 (so it is not working like gearbox should)
-Looks too unstable to be used in engines because engines can not produce same torque in all time, and also when no torque is applied to this gearbox, it spins on its own
- I don´t know how to fix it...
P.s.: How did i made that arrow down symbol in link above??? )|( :bonk:
↓ don't know what you are talking about. I added a few labels to show how it works.;)
Hi noonan! Good to see you!:D
When you set "Motor" to 2000Nm "Brake" to 4000Nm at ratio 0.5 now,
it will turn ~3s, then stop for ~1s and repeat
(it stops while _sum is negative)
I didn´t look at how it works yet, so i used old +inf friction and +inf adhesion gearbox on my truck, which is also updated, now it use I4 combustion engine
(my first combustion engine that somehow works  )
Yes, I noticed that. The transmission works fine up until you get to a stall condition. Maybe you can fix that.

Ideally, the transmission would stop when the engine is stalled, but the slow stuttering of the transmission at stall could be considered an indication that you need to down shift.
I could greately improve it:
1) increase inertiamultiplier to increase torque transmission
2) change density to keep mass of gear
Then do it.
naaah, I'm too lazy! =)
OK. I appreciate your suggestion anyway, but I'm not sure it applies in this case.
Oh, sorry, I didn't fully understand how it works. That's pretty cool
Thanks for the comment and rating.
