i would like some advice on what to get, it should be no more than around £1500 - $2100

macs are EVIL...
I had to work on macs a time, it was horrible... If an error occurs, you dont have any way to configure the system to prevent it, you can't change anything...

And a macintosh is for same power usually more expensive than a PC, quality is the same

You can assemble a PC just by your preferences, ive built my pc by myself, it has 4GB of ram, a dual-core processor with 3ghz and a GeForce 8800 ultra for only £1400 (translated from swiss francs)

On a PC, you can't only run Windows. What about Linux?
