Just for clarification - the real one is what's known as a Sterling Engine. It uses the hot source to heat an enclosed volume of gas, causing the gas to expand and push the piston. Then, the piston moves enough to expose the gas to a heat sink on the other side of the cylinder, causing the gas to cool and compress, drawing the piston back, which in turn compresses the air and it is heated by the hot side again, restarting the cycle. Quite an interesting engine, and incredibly efficient as well.
