Scene tag

Be sure that you have experience with the scene
"electroscope negative staff" before doing this one.
This time the staff is positive; move the staff again so that the blue and green gates are close to each other again, so they will open.
Watch the scene while many electrons are moving from the electroscope into the staff, this will take some time; so you may fixate (f key) the staff after its gates are open. Note then also the reaction of the "right leg" of the electroscope.

For coders:
collision-groups are used to prevent unwanted collsions between gates - gates and screening-parts of the orange and blue section of the electroscope. The gates are opened by XRAYs trick (see his crocodile-scene) in the rotation-axis: bend=true, bendconst=200, and in the postep a decision if scene.my.near is true, which is set in one part of the gate checking the distance of the two gates.
The hidden spring is used to simulate the gravity, which usually drags the moveable "right leg" of the electroscope back to vertical position if no electrical force gives any repulsion.
The electrons and protons are made by a sophisticated way of using attracting and repulsing compartments of different collisiongroups, so that + attracts -, but - repulses - and + repulses +. Tell me if you have found ANY other program besides of Algodoo in which you can simulate electrical forces AND mechanics for free;)

DrBalk - Did you read my comments from your first electroscope scene? I did not see a reply, so maybe you missed them. Anyhow, this scene has the same issues that your other scene has, and this one has one MAJOR bug. When I move the staff over to the electroscope and touch the top of it with the gate of the staff, Algodoo completely freezes up! I haven't spent time on it to try to determine what causes that, but it would probably be easier for you to debug because you know your code.

I hope my suggestions were helpful! :)
I have the same problem mate. except mine lags for a minute or two before locking up. The scene might just need a little TLC. ;)

Cheers m8!
I tested out myself, and found out:
no freezing if you use the drag-tool ( d )
but i also get a freezing here for 30 seconds
if i move the staff with the move-tool ( m ).

So i have to alter the scene-description so
one has to use the drag-tool d and not move it with m.

hopefully i have time for it in a few days
thanks for the reply,
cu, DrBalk
