if that isn't the most tactical load, I don't know what is. Now, this was a relatively difficult project considering the trigger used is the real deal, and that I needed to re-invent a few things, the gas system being one of them. Yes, it's semi-scripted, but that's not exactly much more cheaty than a mechanical gas system like the ones I've used in the past. all in all, I feel this is as good a system as you can get, considering algodoo doesn't exactly render "gas."
So, This is the Sig Sauer SG-556 "Commando." It features a 20-round polymer magazine, A short barrel, a 4-position safety and fire selector, and chambers the 5.56mm NATO cartridge. It's a special warfare variant of the Swiss Army standard-service rifle. Burst mode is a resetting one, so the mechanisms have no tendency to "wander" and cause short bursts.
To use: the magazine is already being inserted by the power of physics, but once it's in, you'll need to pull the charging handle back with the drag tool and let it drop to battery. Select your desired fire mode and use the drag tool or the enter key to press the trigger.
this is still somewhat of a work-in-progress, but it's about as far as I want it to go.
*Update changelog*
-increased fire rate, modified bolt carrier density, altered shape of feed ramp, improved "tactical load" reliability
-Increased fire rate again, modified characteristics of the bolt assembly, altered feed angle, overall reliability improvement, and improved the appearance of rounds in the magazine.
_trigger improvements. trigger now has a very crisp, tactile break.
Enjoy! |
