Very interesting information! I did some experimenting to see the effects of bullets fired at different objects a couple of years ago. Here are a few pictures that I took of a thick metal bar that I fired my 30-06 rifle at.

Bullet Hole

The 30-06 is a very powerful round, as you can see by these pictures.

Your deer rifle is extremely powerful (like a heavy sniper rifle) and your pictures remind me of the impacts in the slow-motion video. Have you already watched it?

Yes, SA, I watched the slo-mo videos. They are AWESOME! I have a small collection of handguns and rifles, and I enjoy shooting them very much. It's a wonderful sport! :tup:
