Update Log
6/11/18: Rotated board 90 degrees as described as it should be. (Thanks, Xray.)
Replaced models for Rooks, Knights, Bishops, Queens, and Kings.
If by popular demand I'll replace the models for the Pawns.
11/24/19: It's been awhile. Updated collisions on pieces. If of the same variation, the piece will have the same collision. No two pieces will have the same collision. For example, All pawns will have collision layer A and will collide with each other, while all Rooks will have collision layer B and will collide with each other, but not pawns. Hopefully this will make it easier to move pieces without such chaos. Might scrap collisions all together, but I'll keep them for now until I return in another year and a half.

idk. I was bored, so just before I went to bed for work the next day, I made this comment while also watching "How It's Made" on the Science Channel. idk
If you don't know how to read a comment, then ask ur parents or somthin. Look online idk?
Lel xray.

Also Devin H: I gave you,

+-+-+-+-HOW TO PLAY CHESS+-+-+-+-
Rules:
Move 1 piece each turn. You can not go through a piece that is yours except the knight
Try to land on the opponents pieces. If you do, you 'capture' it. If you capture it, remove it from the board.
If you make a move which next turn makes it possible to take out their king, say "Check" The opponent must find a way to not have their king 'captured'
If there is nothing that the player can do to defend there king, say "Checkmate" This means you win:D
How Each Piece Moves:
Pawn: First turn, can move 1 or 2 forward. Then can only move 1 forward
Rook: Up, Down, Left, or Right.
Bishop: Diagonally
Queen: Up, Down, Left, Right, or Diagonally
King: Up, Down, Left, Right, or Diagonally 1 space
Knight: Quite confusing to explain. You have 8 options.
2 Left 1 Up
2 Left 1 Down
2 Up 1 Left
2 Up 1 Right
2 Right 1 Up
2 Right 1 Down
2 Down 1 Left
or 2 Down 1 Right
Notable Info:
You can only go through a player if your a knight
You can not land on your own piece
Pawns can not go backwards
Pawns can only attack if they are 1 left 1 up or 1 right 1 up of them.
Pawns can turn into any piece that has been 'captured' if it reaches the other side

I hope this explaination is good XD

alasmyfoe -- Most people don't realize this fact (not even some experienced Chess players) that the lower right-hand corner (as each player faces the board) must be a WHITE square. That's the only way that the queen can be positioned on her same color square when the board is set up correctly. Devin's board needs to be rotated 90 degrees and then the chessmen placed in their proper positions in order to play the game correctly.

I actually didjn't know that. I just know I forgot to mention you should put queen on the color they are (Black queen on black square, white queen on white square at the beginning)
The queen always takes color and the board is always viewed form White's perspective, so the files go "a, b, c, d...", but here it is flipped so you have the ranks where the files should be.

But square chess is boring if you ask me
@pnvv - I already said that, but with different words!
KK I See y'all But if i make the squares black and white, How will you see most of the pieces hmmm? & Im not a master at making everything i can in the world xD
Simple fix, Devin. Just remove the chess pieces, rotate the board 90 degrees, then put the pieces back on the board. DONE!
Flipping the board 90 degrees wont do anything xD
I Made the length and width the same
Think about it, Devin. Currently, you have a black square in the lower right corner. If you rotate the board 90 degrees in either direction, you will then have a white square in the lower right corner. TRY IT!

You do know how to rotate something 90 degrees, don't you?:s

or just take the light squares and color them black and vice versa:)

Also the king and queen are on the opposite (wrong) sides so if you tried to use any opening that frees up the d-file, you couldn't because if White has already moved his d-pawn off its starting cell and captured something, you couldn't then take anything with your d-pawn because it would be pinned by White's queen (trust me, this pawn is useful! )
Well, we gave Devin some helpful information, and now it's up to him if he wants to make use of it or not. I'm sure that you are familiar with the old adage: "You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink it!"
I Just rotated it 90 degrees and Nothing happened to the board. You can try it yourself:) . Like i said, the squares are equilateral
*facepalm*

B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B

Notice in the pattern above that there is a BLACK (B) square in the lower right corner. Now, if you rotate that pattern by 90 degrees in either direction, you will end up with a WHITE (W) square in the lower right corner.

Like this:

W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W
W B W B W B W B
B W B W B W B W

That's exactly how your chess board ends up when I rotate it 90 degrees. If it does not for you, then you are not doing it correctly.

Here is an example of rotating something by 90 degrees. Stand in front of a mirror facing it. You can see your reflection if you are standing as I instructed. Now, turn to the right so that you are now facing where your right shoulder was before. Your left shoulder is now facing toward the mirror. Congratulations, you successfully rotated your body by 90 degrees!

Do you get it now, Devin? Of course you will have to reposition the chess pieces on the board because if you correctly rotated the board by 90 degrees, the chess pieces will be lined up on the left side and the right side of the board. They must be moved to the top and the bottom of the board like they were originally placed.

If you don't get it now, Devin, I'm going to give up on you!

EDIT: Check out my version of your scene: Chessboard (for Devin H) As I mentioned in the description, you can copy my scene and then upload it as your own. I will then delete my version of it. Okay?
