I haven't built a whole lot of cars with this type of engine because I never was able to get them to run very well. I still don't think this runs very well, but it produces power nonetheless...

Please rate and comment! I would like this to get on popular, just to show there are still quality algodoo builders out there, and also so it won't get pushed of "New" by a wave of pure excrament (aka Algicosathlon! ) as i worked hard on it and would like to have more than a dozen people see it...

Nice one!
To be honest, I love to call flat engines "boxer engines" because it sounds so cool, thanks,Subaru:lol:

I really like the bodywork.Gosh, the old designs are so beautiful comparing to most volkswagen these days

the reason why I love it because it reaches from 0-100 km/h easily even though it runs in a 50hp engine!

All that I have to say is, Good Job!

[russian metaphor] Ты делаешь сцены как пирожки :)

Next good car, but I still hate your clutch:/

very good job 9/10  I realy like your textures and the engine. I have never made a spawn engine that actually worked well at high speed, you know the spawned ball always spawned outside the engine becouse of the delay and fast moving engine:/ I trust my srings

I would use at least an automatic clutch, the shifting is complicated at the first sight ( I know i had the same problem with my old scenes but I realised its simplier for the user and started to make automatic clutches and gearboxes)
keep uploading
@faytree - About "Boxer" engines, thank the Germans for that one. They came up with it! :)

@eanayayo - Still not satisfied huh? OK, I'll look at one of your examples or dream up a better one of my own.

@toni - The textures aren't mine. They're better versions of some older textures from a long time ago. You can get them here if you want them.

About the auto clutch, this car has a manual gearbox and so it needs a clutch to avoid gearbox damage in real life. That's no issue in algodoo but I think it adds realism.

About spawn engines, most of my tech I use is stolen from other users. I build the engines myself but most of the techniques I use didn't come from me. Also in your engines if you want the circles to spawn at the engine's speed type into the spawn script "vel := entity.vel" (or "e.geom.vel" if you're using lasers) Also you need to use pos := pos or pos := e.this.pos instead of e.pos because e.pos will spawn balls outside the engine if it's moving quickly. (I used e.other.pos here to line the geoms up better with the engine's cylinders but pos works nicely too)

Pnvv, it's simple computer game, not a simulator. Why I need to hold C to not make engine stall? Anyway if I released UP I need to hold C. Ok, if you prefer to make realism in your scenes so please make realistic clutch. Your clutch is good only for full power and low terrain friction, real car can start even on idling.
Let's not post 10 comments arguing over clutches. I'll post a better clutch in my next car scene, and leave it at that.

Edit - I think this is my highest rated scene now. Thanks for all the positive feedback guys!
