Omg the sudden wave of Algicosathlon is litteraly the only bad thing in Algobox, seriously whatever staff out there needs to take some action into the near 50-100 of those things posted per day >.<

I'd be cool if the MR/Algicosathlon/etc fans stayed but built something worth killing more than 3 seconds for. The users themselves are fine (with a few dishonorable exceptions), so if they'd start making nice stuff like all the actual quality builders here who spend more than 3 minutes working on a scene (ok, I'll admit, I've posted some 3-minute scenes. But it was 3 minutes well spent! ), then we would have more good builders around here!

I do make creative things, and focus on Algodecathon and Marble Races. So, I do both.

No, your scenes are very simple too! When we say "creative", we mean TAKE YOUR TIME to do a scene that (idk) solves a problem or does something but that has NOT been done 1090 times before! (search "algicosathlon")

Now the main problem we have is that you upload lots of scenes per day! If you limited the amount of scenes you upload to 1 or 2 scenes per day (which is a lot anyways) then this would be solved and we'd shut up.
Believe me, we talked about a scene limit in the forums (FOR EVERYONE), but some were opposed to it. I still think it'd be the only solution!

Just for everyone's information, I have been in contact with one of the Algoryx employees who is responsible for Algobox and the Algodoo forum. We have had many discussions concerning the types of scenes that get posted on Algobox, and I expressed my concern about the very simple and worthless scenes that often get uploaded. I wanted to delete them because they waste people's time and they waste space on the server. His reply basically was, "Remember how simple your first scenes were? Do we want someone deleting scenes only because they are simple?". And I also mentioned about the flood of pointless marble races, and copies of copies of marble races, and his reply basically was, if a scene does not violate the TOS (Terms of Service) then there is no justification for deleting it. Those aren't his exact words but the meaning is similar. So, as far as Algoryx is concerned, as long as scenes do not violate the TOS (such as profanity, threats to others, falsifying authority, etc), we Admins are to leave them alone. If you guys recall, I used to delete "message" type scenes because in my opinion they utilize Algobox like a forum, and Algobox is not a forum. Well, I've been told that as long as they don't get too wild and crazy (not his exact words) then I am to allow messages scenes!

Algoryx owns the website, and therefore they can make whatever rules that they want to make. As an Admin, I volunteer my time to enforce those rules because I believe in Algodoo and I enjoy the fact that we have a public place (Algobox) where we can show off our scenes and share them with like-minded people. I like being an Admin except for the times when I am forced to allow certain behavior that I do not agree with.

It can be right and it can be wrong. It's OKAY for you guys to upload it but don't go too far. If you want to upload marble races scene, you need to be serious! No time for announcement, challenges, and messages. If you want to post announcement,messages and challenges to other marble players, go over here

i also want to have a splitting Algobox in two segments. one for simple beginners scenes or childish marblethlon races - and one for more serious, adult and more complex scenes ! Xray perhaps you could use your connections to suggest this? i think that wouldnt be a too difficult update.

Algicosathlon is a great thing to post.
If you dont like what we post just ignore it.
However, the scenes with working guns/cars are amazing.
It also takes time and effort to create a marble race or an algicosathlon event.
So my point is WE POST WHAT WE WANT TO POST

Well, I did a server long ago with my olde pentium4. IF this gets worse it'd be time for Algo2!
Also, I think this "employee" is somehow wrong because we started doing better scenes in half a year or so (maybe more in my case ). but with Algodoo at a cost this was much better managed

Seriously , this needs to stop . It's kinda unfair to see copy and paste scenes posters get 3 subscribers while i spend 8 hours researching and making cars and still get 0 . That's why i'm not making these cars anymore .

I do post these scenes ocassionally, but I try to enjoy making them at least. I spend at least a few weeks trying to perfect my scenes. I hate the people who just splat new scenes into algobox every second. The people who do that also copy, they don't give credit to respective owners, they just make crappy scenes.
I do like to try new things sometimes because making so many of these is EXTREMELY boring. Algobox has really fallen downhill. but I will respect other people because I'm not Heartless. I feel we just need to cut down on the usage of Algobox, and spend more time on any scenes made. I am actually nearly done altogether because of this. I started making marble races, because it seemed interesting and a new fad going aound. I had fun doing it until it got out of control. It vexed me because I couldn't even find any good scenes that weren't Algicosathlon or Marble Races. We just need to slow it down and give others a fair oppriunity.
