Maybe I should make something like this. I think this thing is totally impractical IRL because it has far too many parts all moving in different directions. But I'm just thinking, who in hell figured this out!?

lethalsquirrel - Very nice job on the scene! :tup: I didn't realize how complex the driving mechanism was until I highlighted the entire scene and then saw all those timing gears and stretched axles! WOW! :o

Thanks Xray. I had to cheat a bit with the timing because the chains in algodoo suck so I used hidden gears instead :yum:

Pnvv - I think Ive seen that engine on youtube before. There was a demonstration of it running on compressed air.

I haven't even downloaded this scene yet and I'm already hyped up about it! I'll probably give a 10 once I do download it. Due to it being another fine piece of lethalsquirrel engineering I don't see how it could get anything lower _o_ :tup:

yeah they are kind unnecessary. I realized after I made them I could just make the cams spin at half the speed of the crank with hinge motors but whatevs.

Its a LOT better than the little boxer engine I'm working on.

What you called 'pushrod' is actually a 'connecting rod'.

Pushrods were used on engines before they started using chains or belts to spin the camshafts.

Push rod definition: "A rod in an overhead-valve engine that is part of the linkage used to open and close the valves."

It has nothing to do with whether chains or belts are used to spin the cam shaft.

U need to know the bumb part on cranksaft it was a balancing device. the weight of it same as whole piston part
